Karen Ford

Theatre work includes theatres throughout the country, playing such parts as Juliet (Romeo and Juliet) and Ghost Train at the Belgrade Coventry, Getting Married, a national tour, Candida at The Castle Theatre Farnham, The Right Honourable Topsy Evans in Guests at the Croydon Warehouse, Heloise in Heloise and Abelard touring England and Ireland including a run at The Hammersmith Theatre London and Andrews Lane Theatre Dublin (a production she produced herself), A Woman
of No Importance in Bury St Edmunds, Happy Days in Copenhagan, plus numerous other productions, too many to mention. She also appeared twice in the West End, The Doctors Dilemma (Comedy Theatre) Mistress of Novices (Piccadilly Theatre).

Radio work includes some 40 plays and television appearances are considerable from Six Wives of Henry 8th, Softly Softly, Jazz Age, Hijack to Mogadishu, Chuckle Vision to Holby City and many more but perhaps what brought Karen the most notoriety was her 7 years as Miss Booth, The Art teacher in “Grange Hill”.

More recently Karen toured with Theatre Works last spring playing Mrs Grose in “Turn Of the Screw”. In the summer she appeared in Emmerdale and in October played the lead role in Doctors “Holding Back”.
